For nearly four decades, the Little 500 held only a men’s cycling relay. In 1987, four women in Kappa Alpha Theta sorority tried – but missed – qualifying for that year’s running of the Little Five. A year later, the IU Student Foundation created a women’s cycling event, in which 31 teams competed, showing how enthusiastic and determined the women of IU were to take part in the iconic cycling weekend. To celebrate the 36th running of the women’s race, we adapted the 1988 women’s race poster for this vintage-inspired tee. Products are mocked up on a size S.
